Defend |
|
Somthing that has been on my heart today is that Jesus never defended himself. I have just been thinking about how many times this pass week I have tryed to defend myslelf and how we are called to be like Jesus. Well this is just somthing I wanted to share because it blew my mind away.

I know exactly what you are talking about Kyle because I was there when you fond this out. I totally agree with this which it is an amazng fact because it says in gods word that someone is to ask of something of you then you are to give it to them and jesus did this by allowing them to to get self gratification from mockng and making fun of him which is why he didnt defend hiself.

I think that is a testiment of Jesus humbleness. How does someone sit back and take junk from people, watch people tear him down and not strike back trying to build himself up? Its through incredible humbleness that that happens. Instead of trying to find a way to make himself look good in front of others, he allowed others to make him look bad. Its also a sign of selflessness. You know Jesus wanted to be lifted up time and time again, but he wanted to meet the needs of others more. He was so fixed on loving others that He allowed them to mock Him and put Him down just so they would feel better. How much love does that take? Even better question, how long are we going to let Him be mocked and put down?

Everyone,
Isaiah 53... "He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a
sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth."
"There is a struggle that rages in the depth of a man. Indeed it is war within his being.
For the most able and valiant among men can but nearly bear to triumph when he is wrought
with this trial. For he realizes that his Creator watches on, to see of what sort he is. Can he
withhold his hand from striking back against he who struck him? Can he best his greatest
enemy? For truly his Creator sees, he fights himself alone."
-Unknown (But it should be in Wild At Heart)
Kyle brings up an amazing point about Jesus. He does not defend Himself, nor even His own testimony, but He always continues steadfastly.
When the people ask, "How do we know that Your testimony is true?" He simply replies, "My Father testifies of Me." When they ask, "How do we know that You are come from God?" He says, "The scriptures are all about Me," and also, "If you will not believe Me because of anything else, believe Me because of the works that I do." Time and time again we see Him accused, yet silent, afflicted, yet patient, and misunderstood, but devoted to His Father.
The Spirit of God comes from God, and is given as a gift to men, just as we see it given to the First Man among men in God's Kingdom, but the working out of the heart of man is the responsibility given each man, just as we also see in the First Man.
Hopefully that means that we will all take upon our shoulders the responsibility to be come more like our King. If we are willing we know that we have the Spirit to aid us. I look forward to turning the other cheek, and going the extra mile.
GREAT POST KYLE!!! Sorry it took me so long to read and respond to it.

Those two scriptures have really been on my heart lately Tony..thanks for the confirmation. As wellm this has been on my mind sort of laterly too... I am amazed at how Jesus did good to those who actually hated him. I am thinking about that lately..being hated. Not that I am hated...but the very fact that He, Himself, was literally HATED by men..people WANTED TO KILL HIM..AND THEY DID TAKE HIS OWN LIFE..and He still chose to Love them and to care for them genuinely despite their own selfish and spiteful intentions toward Him...WHAT A KING HUH???
..He really does set an amazing and yet challenging example to Follow huh? But..we are not without a Helper..and we are not without THE WAY TO FOLLOW..
...I wonder if any of us....one day..will have that privelaged-challenge of being actually Hated and Despised by men and those close to us..so that we can Model Him and Love and genuienly care...
...just some thoughts running through my head.
Take Care MAMC, Take Care Tony and Kyle.
